Ranjini Haridas Biography

Ranjini Haridas is a well known face to Keralites. She was the winner of Miss. Kerala pageant in the year 2000.  She is one among the top anchors of Malayalam television and one among the personalities who enjoy celebrity status. She was one among the most criticized celebrities/anchors of Malayalam for poor Malayalam accent. She has been widely criticized for her fashion and dressing style too. However through years, she corrected her mistakes and through the singing hunt show of Asianet, Idea Star Singer, she won everyone’s heart. She became a part of ‘Idea star singer’ from season 2 with new format, and has become the most indispensible part of the program. She joined the program in the year 2006 when her Malayalam accent was not proper and till now, the talent hunt show has completed 5 seasons, now doing the sixth, and Ranjini is a part of each and every season of this program.

Apart from anchoring, she writes poems and performs at stage too. She also anchors stage shows of television award functions as well as inauguration functions. When Shah Rukh Khan inaugurated Emmanuvel silks on December 5, 2011 at Kochi, she was the anchor of the stage show conducted and won the super star’s appreciation too. Later too, they were seen together at Asianet Film Awards. 

When legendary football player Diego Maradona visited Alappuzha for the inaugural function of Chemmanur Jewellers, she was the anchor of the event. Not only that, she danced with him, getting support from the crowd. According to her, it’s one of the most memorable days of her life when she got an opportunity to dance with him. “I was a little scared whether Maradona was in the mood when I approached him for a dance. When I did a few steps, he joined me.  I enjoyed every moment,” she told media later. But it created lot of oppositions from Ranjini haters when she kissed this legendary player. Many people even preached that she is his girl friend. Ranjini took those news positively only and remarked that she takes it as pride.

Ranjini Haridas was born on April 23, 1980. She was educated at St. Teresa's College and earned an MBA in the United Kingdom. She has been one among the ladies of Kerala who took criticisms strongly and face it with courage. Now she has entered movies as a leading heroine. Entry is her debut movie.
