Ranjeeta Kaur is a successful actress of Bollywood who played leading roles in Laila Majnu and Akhiyon ki jarokem se. Though she has done only a few number of films in Hindi cinema, she was able to deliver a few hits and she has given some powerful characters as well. Ranjeeta Kaur is a Punjabi girl who debut silver screen with Heer Ranja opposite Rishi Kapoor. This movie was a huge hit and the song ‘Koi pathar se na mare mere diwane ko’ was well noticed.

Her second movie was ‘Pati patni aur woh’ opposite Sanjeev Kumar. This movie was a hit too. Subsequently her movie opposite Sachin, ‘Akhiyon ki jaroko se’ was released in 1979. This movie was a big hit and earned her best actress nomination in Filmfare though she couldn’t win it. The title song ‘Akhiyon ki jarokom se’ and ‘Kai din se mujhe’ conquer millions of music loving hearts till now. The music given by Ravendra Jain and sung by Hemalatha quite suited her voice. She did the role of a Christian girl who dies due to disease before her marriage. She paired again with Sachin in Amitabh Bachchan’s movie, ‘Sathe pe satha’. Sachin and Ranjeetha paired again for the last time in the movie ‘Jaana Pehchana’ in the year 2011. It was her movie after a long gap of about 11 years.

After the success of ‘Akhiyon ki jaroko se’ she did a string of movies opposite Mithun Chakravarthy, with whom she own maximum hits. Their association began with Suraksha and they acted together last in the movie ‘Zindagi tere naam’ in 2012. She has been successful with Mithun Chakravorthy, Sachin, Amol Palekar, Vinod Mehra and Raj Babbar.  Her best films include Akhiyon ki jaroko se, Heer Ranjha, Sathe pe sathe, Mehndi, Baazi, Sun sajna, Damaad, Usthadi usthad se, aap tho asie na the, Arman, Rajput, Raj Thilak and Teri kasam.

Though she has associated herself with television serials she was not interested and very soon left the system. Now she is residing at Virgina, US running a series of 7-Eleven stores. Her son Sky is a popular tennis player too.
