Rana Biography
Rana Daggubati is an Indian film actor who has also produced some films. He entered film career in 2005 and he has won many awards for his excellent performance in acting.
He was born on 14th December 1984 in Chennai in Tamil Nadu. His father’s name is Suresh Babu Daggubati and his mother’s name is Lakshmi Daggubati. His father is a famous film producer. He is from the popular acting family of Ramanaidu Daggubati and the actors Venkatesh Daggubati, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Naga Chaitanya Akkineni, Amala, Sumanth, Sushanth and Akkineni Nageswara Rao are his relatives. He completed his schooling at Chennai and during his school days, the actors Ram Charan Teja Konidala and Allu Arjun were his classmates.
He completed his schooling in 2002 and he continued his education in the graphics field and pursued photography course at the Konica Institute of Imaging and Technology and started working as a cinematographer. He was very successful in his initial career of being a Digital Post Entrepreneur and was running his own company named Spirit Media. During that time, he has produced many documentary films and commercials for various brands. Thus he learned different aspects of film making.
He set new trends in the postproduction technologies and after working behind the camera for quite sometimes he decided to work in the front also and underwent intensive training in acting. He then turned his attention towards his family business which is an integrated production house named Ramanaidu Studios and Suresh Productions.
He directed a one hour short film in Hindi titled Barah and this was received well in youth circles. He worked in many movies under the banner of Suresh Productions. He produced his first film Bommalata – A Bellyful of Dreams in 2006 and this won him the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu.
The company Prime Focus was acquired by his Spirit Media company and he became one of the directors of Prime Focus. The company saw tremendous growth and became one of the largest entertainment services in India.
He made his acting debut in 2010 through the film Leader and won Filmfare Award for that political thriller. The film Dum Maaro Dum in 2011 marked his acting debut in Hindi film industry. He was selected as The Most Promising Newcomer of 2011 in the poll conducted by the Times of India. In the list of the Times of India of the India’s Most Desirable Men of the year 2011, he got number 20 position.
