Ramon Tikaram Biography 
Ramon Tikaram is a British stage and film actor of Indo-Fijian descend. He is better known for playing the male protagonist in the controversial movie directed by Mira Nair - Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (1996). He played the role of a young stone sculptor, Jai Kumar who falls in love with a beautiful maid Maya, the role played by Indira Varma. Game of Thrones (2013) is his recent work, in which he played the supporting role of Prendahl.
His full name is Ramon Pramod Junior Tikaram and he was born in Singapore in 1967. Tikaram is the son of Fijian-Indian British Army soldier Pramod Tikaram and Sarawakian mother Fatimah Rohani (Malaysian). He is the great-nephew of Sir Moti Tikaram, the first Lord Chief Justice of independent Fiji. His sister Tanita Tikaram is a noted singer and lyricist. As a child he was raised in Germany and later the family relocated to England in the early 1980’s. Thus Tikaram’s schooling was completed in United Kingdom, Germany and Kent. He was invited by Elton John to appear in his music video, “Something about the way you look tonight” for This life in 1996.
He has faced racist abuse while starting his career as a television actor and he overcame those obstacles and created a niche of his own in the television industry. Qadim Shah, father of the already established character Amira Shah is one of his noted television roles. This Life and East Enders are other noted television works. For Indian audience, he is familiar in the role of lead hero in Bollywood movie, Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love.
