Ramesh Vinayakam Biography 
Ramesh Vinayakam is a music composer and singer of south Indian movies. He concentrates most on Tamil cinema. His noted works as a composer include - Nala Damayanthi, Azhagiya Theeye, Jerry and A Common Man. He has also done a few devotional albums like - Prathidhvani (1986), Sambo Mahadeva (1990), Krishna Janardhana (1993), Aha Oho Ayyappa (1996), Vetrivel Sivasakthivel (2002), Moksha Mantra of Lord Shiva (2005) and Sri Rama Dootam (2009).
Ramesh Vinayakam was born Ramasubramaniam to Tamil people Vinayakam and Valli. He graduated in Commerce from the University of Madras. He learned Carnatic from Rukmini Ramani and Western classical music from Jacob John and has also taken a diploma from Trinity College, London. Though music was his dream, his father opposed it because he wanted his son to take a manager’s job at a firm. On father’s words, he joined his friend’s office too and in spare time, he continued writing pieces of music. One of his friends introduced him to S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, who heard his work and hired him as a "track singer". It proved to be the turning point of his career.
In 1986, Ramesh Vinayakam's first album Prathidhvani was released. It was a devotional album and all the 10 tracks were sung by SPB. After 3 years, he got a Telugu film offer. The movie was Paila Pacheesu directed by Moulee. Later the same director gave him two more movies, Manchi Roju (1991) and Aunty (1995). Yet for one decade or so, it was a struggling period for this composer. In 2002, when director Vasanth decided to give chance to different music directors for a single movie, Ramesh too got a chance. The movie was Hey! Nee Romba Azhaga Irukke in which he sang the song, "Thottu Thottu" as well. Later, the Tamil movie, University made him a full-fledged music director and he became a part of the film world.
