Ramdoss Biography

Ramdoss is a popular character artist associated with Tamil films. Mundasupatti (2014), Pasanga 2 (2015) and 10 Endrathukulla (2015) are some of his noted appearances. After struggling in the industry for more than a decade, Mundasupatti in 2014 gave him the big break to his acting career. His dream was to become a villain, but later settled as a comedian.

Ramdoss came to Chennai in 2002 to pursue a career in films and ended up as a junior artist. He worked in small bit roles for several years and then moved to Malaysia to do the job of a goldsmith. But he returned back after two years and often slept homeless at Vadapalani temple in Chennai. He later appeared in a few short films, which was a turning point of his career. Many of his appearances were for short films for Naalaya Iyakkunar show on Kalaignar TV, which earned him recognition as an actor.  In season 4 of the show, he acted in the short films – Mannathi Maluvane, Thalaki Pathu laksham, Kathakukappal, Saturanga Vetai etc of which he won best actor award for Thalaki Pathu laksham and Kathakukappal gave him best actor award.

He continued with small roles in Tamil cinema during this time. He was seen in Pizza 2, Soodhu Kavvum, Kadal etc. He got his first break through 2014 comedy film – Mundasupatti, where he portrayed the pivot dual role of Muniskanth and Head of the village. His role was highly acclaimed by critics. This movie had earlier been shot as a short film for Naalaya Iyakkunar show on Kalaignar TV, for which Ramdoss was associated with as an actor. Since then he got offers to portray challenging roles onscreen. He has excelled in the roles of a comedian.
