Rajshree Thakur Biography

Rajshree Thakur is an actress who works in movies as well as television. Rajshree acted in an Indo-French film- Hava Aney Dey directed by Partho Sen-Gupta which won her international fame. As a television actress, her most noted role is Hindi television drama Saat Phere where she portrayed the role of Saloni. She was awarded the Best Fresh Face of the Year - Female (2006) at the Sixth Indian Telly Awards. She shared this award aside Bollywood actress, Prachi Desai who starred in Kasamh Se. She married her childhood friend Sanjot Vaidya in 2007.

Rajshree was born on September 22, 1981 in Mumbai. She worked at All India Radio as a Marathi news reader before entering television. She has also appeared in numerous ads. She debut small screen with Saat Phere in 2005 where she played the role of Saloni Singh. The show was successfully aired till 2009 and she became a household name. In 2013, she became a part of historical serial of Sony TV, Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap where she played the role of Maharani Jaywanta bai, Maharana Pratap’s mother.

Rajshree married her childhood friend Sanjot Vaidya in 2007. They were in the same drama group whiiel at college. They were good friends then and when Sanjot proposed to her, she agreed. Together they have worked in a Marathi serial also. Now he is running a business. In 2003, she appeared in an Indo-French film, Hava Aney Dey shot at northern suburbs of Mumbai. The movie was screened in many international film festivals though not released in India yet. It happened as the director was not willing to cut a few shots reducing 20 minutes of the film. Rajshree played the role of Salma in this film.
