Rajiv Sabharwal Biography 
Mr. Rajiv Sabharwal the current Ececutive Director of ICICI Bank was born on September 28 is the Executive Director on the board of ICICI Bank. Rajiv Sabharwal has completed his Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (B. Tech. Mechanical Engineering) in 1983-1987 and MBA, Marketing, Finance during 1988-1990 from Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. His basic schooling was done at Kendriya Vidyalaya Class XII, 1980- 1982 and Hartmann College, Class X, 1978- 1980.
Rajiv has been in the banking and Financial Services for more than 22 years. But he joined ICICI Group in 1998 and has held leadership positions in credit policy, debt management, business analytics, mortgage finance, consumer loans, credit cards, rural and microfinance lending and financial inclusion. Rajiv is mainly responsible for Retail Banking, Business Banking, Rural Banking and Financial Inclusion Business. Rajiv is is also a director on the board of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited and Non-executive Chairman of ICICI Home Finance Company Limited.
Rajiv is specially known for his contribution in the growth of mortgage and retail business in the banking circles especially within ICICI Group. He also has considerable knowledge relating to the securities and portfolio management business segments as he has been on the investment advisory committee of ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company's Real Estate PMS since 2007.
Rajiv has also worked in the Consumer Durables Marketing, Commercial Finance and Retail Finance businesses at Godrej, SRF Finance and GE Capital before joining ICICI bank. It is not a secret that Rajiv Joined Sequoia Capital, a leading venture growth capital company in 2009 and worked as Operating Partner focusing on the financial services sector. There he led new investment decisions as well as represented Sequoia at the board in existing investments. But he joined ICICI again in 2010.
