Rajesh Murugesan Biography 
Rajesh Murugesan is a south Indian music director, best known for his association with hit maker Alphonse Putharen. He has been associated with Alphonse Putharen for both his movies – Premam and Neram, and both are instant chartbusters. In fact, his peppy music for ‘Pista’ song for the movie Neram (originally borrowed from Sathyan Anthikad's film 1983 film Kinnaram) had gone viral in 2013. More than that, all his trendsetting songs of the recent super hit blockbuster Premam has made him an overnight star. The romantic song ‘Malare’ is the number one Malayalam song for the year 2015 and holds the current record of attaining 5 lakh hits in the shortest instant of time. Scene Contra, Aluva Puzhayude Theerath, Kaalam Kettu Poy, Kalippu and Pathivayi Jnan of the same movie have already registered him as the new trendsetter of Malayalam cinema.
He is a native of Nagercoil, Kanyakumari district, but spent his childhood days in Thripunithura of Ernakulam district, Kerala. He schooled at Cochin Refineries School, Ambalamugal and completed graduation from SAE International College, Chennai. It was during that time when he met Alphonse and Shabareesh. They together learnt the craft of zero-budget film making and started working on short films before plunging into the film field through the bi-lingual – Neram, which was a musical hit, both musically and commercially.
The promo song ‘Pistah: the run anthem’ was in fact a tribute to the legendary comedian, Jagathy Sreekumar who had met with an accident one year ago before the song re-composition. The same song ‘Pistah Suma Kira’ was pictured on him in the 1983 movie Kinnaram. The song went viral over net registering 2 Lakh hits in the short interval of time. His signature style is retro, fun, and instrumental-heavy with some wacky lyrics. Though he is well known for peppy type music, he has also composed evergreen romantic hits like Malare Ninne Kaanathirunnal.
