Rajendran Biography

Rajendran is a character actor associated with south Indian films, who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. He is better known as stunt double for action films. He has worked as a stunt double for more than 500 films, mostly belonging to Malayalam. He also plays henchman and grey shaded roles onscreen. Naan Kadavul (2009) is his well noted film in the antogonist role and since then popular on Tamil screen for similar roles. His bald look has attributed a lot to his villain characters. He began his acting with 2003 National award winning film – Pithamagan. He was seen in a comical role in Raja Rani.

He was born in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. His father Arunachalam and brothers are also fighters. Rajendran started working in movies as a henchman in the 1990s, though he didn’t receive memorable roles then. His roles were less significant and he also played a role of stunt double for movies. Till now he has done more than 500 such roles as a stuntman. While doing one such sequence for a Malayalam film, he jumped into a pond. But due to some allergic problems he lost his hair and became bald. But now baldness has become his identity.

He raised his voice in his first film and the directors started liking this effect. Thus he adopted this style and later it became a part of his identity as well. When dubbing work is done, he has to speak at least four times louder during dubbing. He was asked to assist in a fight sequence in director Bala's Pithamagan. Bala had promised him to give one film role. That’s how he was offered the villain's role in Naan Kadavul. After the movie, his life changed overnight. Milaga, Thambi Arjuna and Bana Kathadi are some of his noted roles later.
