Raj Kaushal Biography

Raj Kaushal is a producer and director of Bollywood. He has also worked as a stunt master for a few films. He is better known as the husband of star anchor of television channels – Mandira Bedi, who has also worked in a few films of Raj as heroine. As a producer, his best effort was My brother Nikhil, a critically well acclaimed movie where Juhi Chawla played leading role. As a director his debut movie was Pyar mein kabhi kabhi released in 1999, which happened to be debut movie of many young actors of Bollwood including Rajesh Khanna’s daughter, Rhinkie Khanna and Dino Morea.

Raj Kausal started his career with the Bollywood disaster ‘Pyar mein kabhi kabhi’. This movie was technically weak in all sectors. The only highlight was its music. The songs like Dil se tu door na jaana and Musu musu haasi pictured on a set of youngsters were loved by millions. The film was set against the backdrop of a Performing Arts College. Apart from Dino Morea and Rhinkie Khanna, Akashdeep Saigal, Sanjay Suri and Shweta Salve also debut Bollywood with this movie. However the experimental effort was not effective at box office and he made his second film 5 years later.

Shaadi ka ladoo released in 2004 was happened to be one of the earliest movies of Mandira Bedi in the leading actress role. Earlier she had appeared in many television shows and in a brief role in DDLJ and she is most known for her role as cricket commentator. Mandira was paired opposite hero of Kausik’s first movie – Sanjay Suri and the movie was about love and marriage told in a comic way. Again this movie was a disaster at box office. It was for the first time Mandira worked with her husband, Raj Kausal. Mandira Bedi married Raj Kaushal on 14 February 1999.

As a stuntman, he has worked for Bekhudi released in 1992. His career as a successful film maker is yet to start. All the very best for a prosperous career journey ahead.
