Rahul Vaidya Biography 
Rahul Vaidya is a pop singer and playback singer who became popular with the first singing reality show of Indian television – Indian Idol Season 1. Though he was the strong and most popular contestant of the show, he was eliminated in the penultimate round, on February 18, 2005. It was something like a shock to see him go. He finished third to Abhijeeth Sawant and Amit sana. But later, he defeated Indian Idol Abhijeet Sawant in the finals of Jo jeeta superstar of Star plus entertainment to win the title in the year 2009. Now he is a successful pop singer and has done playback singing for a few movies as well.
Rahul Vaidya was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra. His father is an engineer of Maharashtra State Electricity Board. He was brought up in Mumbai where he took classes in classical singing from playback singer Suresh Wadkar. He has won several child talent competitions since his childhood. He participated in Indian Idol in 2004 when he was second Year student in Mithibhai College. At that time, Indian Idol was a new platform for singing shows. From the first round itself, he became every judge’s popular kid. His singing style was inspired a lot from Sonu Nigam, one among the contestants of the show. The lively performance and comic moments among the judges – Anu Malik, Farah Khan and Sonu Nigam made this show a great successful one. Till Rahul was eliminated in the penultimate round, everyone expected him to win the contest and his eyes were filled with tears when he was announced, ‘eliminated’ by the anchors.
Though he couldn’t win the super singing contract with Sony Music, eight months later his debut album was released. Tera Intezaar became immensely popular, particularly its title track, Mujhe raat din….tera intezaar hai. He was also seen featured in the song. Music composers were Sajid-Wajid team. He debut playback singing along with his Indian Idol contestant, Prajakta Sukla for the movie Shaadi no.1. Hello Madam and God promise dil are the songs. He has also sung Kabool Kar Le of Jaane mann, It’s all about tonight of Ishq in Paris, Ek rupayya of Krazyy 4 and be intehaan Unplugged of Race 2. His albums Mere Maula and Mere Sun are yet to release. He has also anchored the program ‘Aaja Maahi Ve’ along with his good friend, Vinit Singh, another singer coming from same platform.
