Rahil Azam Biography

Rahil Azam is a very popular model and television actor, who shot to fame after playing the antagonist of the Fantasy serial, Hatim on Star Plus in the early 2000s. He has also appeared in several television commercials and serials, yet remembered for the title role of Hatim in the fantasy series during 2003-2004 - one of the most watched television serial during its original run. He won Star Parivaar Award for Favourite Action Star for this memorable role on small screen. One of the hot actors of 2000s, he played male lead in Gulaal, Resham Dankh and Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na, which bagged him several nominations. A software engineer by profession, he is into his family business.

He was born in September 27, 1981 in Bangalore. He completed graduation in software engineering from B.M.S. College of Engineering and moved to Mumbai in 1999 to pursue a career in IT field. But he joined Kishore Namit Kapoor's acting classes for three months. He dreamt to become a jockey and also an actor. Azam started his career with modeling and did a few commercial ads. Very soon he was seen in a music video featuring Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Roop Kumar Rathod and landed into the world of television. He was also actively involved with family business during this time.

Ek Tukda Chaand Ka – in 2001 marked his television debut, where he was seen in the role of a romantic boy Aakash. It was followed by Ssshhhh...Koi Hai on Star Plus and Bhabhi. He got the offer of Hatim in 2003, based on a popular fantasy film of Jeetendra – Hatim Thai. The serial earned him huge popularity and appreciation. In 2004, he played a negative role in Ye Meri Life Hai, which bagged him a nomination for the Best Actor in a Negative - Male at Indian Telly Awards. He played male lead in Gulaal, Resham Dankh and Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na and also appeared in CID, Ssshhhh...Phir Koi Hai, Saarrthi and a few more serials.
