Rahi Sarnobot Biography
Rahi Sarnobot is an Indian sportswoman who excels in pistol shooting event. She has won two gold medals at the Commonwealth Games held at Delhi in 2010.
Rahi Sarnobot was born on 30th October 1990 in Kolhapur in Maharashtra. Her full name is Rahi Jeevan Sarnobot. Her father’s name is Jeevanrao Sarnobot and her mother’s name is Prabha. She completed her education at Tararani Vidypeeth and then at Vivekanand College in Kolhapur. She was coached by Ajit Patil and Sheela Kanugo. She lives in the Takala area of Rajarampuri.
She participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and returned without any medal. She also got an entry to the 2012 London Olympics but failed to accomplish there also. However, she has won one gold medal and one silver medal in the pistol pair in the Commonwealth Games 2010 and bronze medal in the ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup.
She was later coached by Sunny Thomas. She is affiliated with the Shiva Chattrapati Sports Complex of Pune and practices regularly at the Balewadi Shooting Range in Pune.
