Raghu Dixit Biography 
Raghu Dixit is a musician from Bangalore known as a singer, composer and lyricist. Raghu Dixit Project, his multilingual folk music band is very famous. Raghu didn’t have any formal training in music and learnt everything himself. He is originally from Mysore, now settled in Bangalore. Dixit’s band has performed more than 250 concerts all over India and in 2008, launched its debut album Antaragni: The Fire Within. His unique voice which goes beyond ranges and humour make his band famous. He has composed music of Hindi movies - Quick Gun Murugan (one song) and Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge and Kannada movies – Psycho, Just Math Mathalli, Kote and Superman. Now he is one of the promising new comer music artists from Kannada. He has also composed music for contemporary dance and theatre productions.
Raghu was born in a traditional family. But he took interest in music only at the age of 20 when he took guitar in his hand. Dixit’s debut album was launched by popular Bollywood music directors, Vishal-Shekhar. Same year he debuted as a music director in the Kannada film industry with Psycho. In May 2008 Dixit joined Springboard Surprises' Roots Festival to travel many foreign countries with music concerts. He has successfully conducted concerts in United States, UK, Korea, Japan and many other foreign countries. He got an opportunity to play at SAMA Festival in North East England and has got opportunity to work with French musicians Anais, Emily Loizeau and Mademoiselle K.
His performance in Glastonbury festival in the year 2012 was a huge hit. He mixes traditional tunes with western influences to give a new look to his compositions. He won Favorite Singer Award at the 2008 SFM Kalaa Awards and "Best Newcomer" at the 2011 Songlines Music Awards. He has composed music for Indian contemporary dance group Nritarutya and Girish Karnad's Hayavadana. Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge is his debut Hindi movie as a music director.
