Raghav Mathur Biography

Raghav Mathur, popularly known as Raghav is an Indian singer and composer who resides in Canada at present. For Indians, he is most known for the remixed version of ‘Kabhi aar kabhi paar’ in 2004, a time when the same song was remixed in three or four versions by different DJs. He appeared in the music video also. His top album is "Angel Eyes" that reached at number 7 in the UK in 2005. "So Confused", "Can't Get Enough" and "It Can't Be Right" are other popular singles of Raghav.

 

Raghav was born on April 2, 1981 in Toronto, Canada to Hindu Indian parents. The family shifted to Calgary and Fort McMurray during his childhood days and young Raghav completed his schooling at Sir Winston Churchill High School. At the age of 15, he was deeply influenced by music and dreamt a career related to it. At the age of 16, his lyrics was awarded by the National Songwriters Association of U.S.A. Next year he moved to US to learn music from Seth Riggs. He joined Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts at England from where he joined R&B band 11/7. Raghav signed for A&R/V2 Records in 2003 and worked as a song producer and DJ.

 

In 2004, his singles - "So Confused" became a chartbuster and Raghav tasted the sweet of success. It was followed by a string of hits like "Can't Get Enough" and "It Can't Be Right". His album songs always found space among the top 10 chartbusters of the year. His final released album was "Angel Eyes" which reached number 7 of US Chart. He has also performed live in many countries like Africa, Australia and Canada. In 2010, his third album; The Phoenix was released in collaboration with Canadian label Cordova Bay. As a Bollywood playback singer, he sang for A. R. Rahman’s chartbuster song, Ishq Shava from 2012 movie, Jab tak hai jaan.
