Ragasiya Biography

Ragasiya is an Indian model, dancer, actress and theater personality. She has done item songs in numerous Tamil movies, apart from Hindi, Malayalam and Marathi and is a trained Kathak dancer. Vedika Shivsagar is her real name and she made her film debut through Vasool Raja MBBS in 2004 for an item number. The film director Saran wanted to keep her name a secret and gave the screen name, Ragasiya. She has also done a few Punjabi music videos and one Hungarian video. She was the lead actress of Bollywood movie - "Journey Bombay to Goa".

She was born in Mumbai on September 25, 1988. Her father is the founder and owner of publication company Rupali Arts. Her elder sister is a senior executive of Dainik Bhaskar daily and her younger sister is a fashion designer. Ragasiya holds a diploma in Interior Design and Decoration. Ragasiya has learnt various derivatives of dance forms. She learnt Kathak under Guru Viru Maharaj, Habiba and Saroj Khan. She learnt salsa from Sandeep Soparkar and hip hop from Ganesh Hegde. Then she started off as an assistant under many choreographers. She also had short stint to theatre and started modelling as well. She became cover girl of many women’s magazines of India.

She shot an international music video for Hungarian singer Krisz Rudy titled Dangerous. She has also appeared in Punjabi videos like "Gori Gori Veeni", "Chubare Wali Baari" and "Billo Ni Tere Nakhre Ne".  Her first onscreen appearance was for Kamal Hassan starrer, Vasool Raja MBBS. The song "Chirukki Chirukki" was a huge chartbuster. After that she regularly appeared in many promotional videos of south Indian movies and a few Bollywood projects.
