Rabbi Shergill Biography 
Rabbi Shergill is a Punjabi singer who sings for Bollywood movies as well. His debut album Rabbi was a hit with the chart-topper song of 2005, Bullah Ki Jaana. He uses Rock, Punjabi, Sufi and Bani styles for his album songs. Rabbi has been called "Punjabi music's true urban balladeer". He is loved by Bollywood music lovers for Challa song of Jab tak hai jaan, pictured on Shah Rukh Khan, for which he won many nominations including Filmfare. Shergill's albums, Avengi Ja Nahin and Rabbi 3 were also successful. Tu man Shiddi of Rhanghanaa is his recent hit song.
After leaving college Rabbi formed a band called Kaffir with the help of a few college friends. But the band couldn’t gain opportunities and members one after the other, left the group. But Rabbi was committed to music and he began his career by creating jingles. His popular jingles are Yamaha RX-T motorbikes and Times FM. With his songs of ‘Rabbi’ he approached many music companies for its release. But it couldn’t happen for one reason or other and at last it was released in the year 2004 by Phat Phish Records. He first approached Sony music, but faced rejection. Other music companies include – Tehelka and Magna sound, and in both these cases it couldn’t happen due to financial crisis of the music company. Word-of-mouth publicity and a music video made Rabbi an instant hit and after that this singer didn’t look back. The other songs in the album include songs of joy ("Ajj Nachna"), love ("Tere Bin") and even on contemporary issues ("Jugni"). Though many film producers approached Rabbi to include the hit song, Bullah ki Jaana, Rabbi rejected them all.
He worked as music director and lyricist for the Hindi movie, Delhii Heights. The basics in Rabbi’s compositions lie in Punjabi tunes and music - either Bhangra or traditional folk. He uses Rock and Sufi in his unique style fused with Punjabi style and delivers his hit songs.
