Punit Malhotra Biography 
Punit Malhotra is a successful director of Bollywood who came to limelight with his debut movie – I hate love stories (2010). GoriTerePyaar Mein, starring Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan was his second release which proved to be one of the disasters of 2013. His upcoming movie is Gutka, which is scheduled to release in 2014. Before debuting as a director, he has worked as assistant to KaronJohar and AmolPalekar and has been associated with Dharma Productions. Both his released movies as a director were also financed by Karan Johar and Dharma productions. He has worked as assistant director of movies like KabhiKhushiKabhieGham, Paheli, Dostana and Kal ho na ho.
Punit Malhotra was born on 13 May 1982. He is the nephew of famous costume designer, Manish Malhotra who is the hot favorite of the leading stars of Bollywood. Punit assisted Karan Johar since early 2000’s and has been associated with many movies of Dharma Productions, beginning with KabhikhushikabhiGhum. He has also worked as the creative director of India’s academy entry – Paheli.I hate love stories – starring Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan marked his successful direction debut. The movie was well appreciated by audience for its witty dialogues as well as fresh presentation of a romantic story. It was the first hit of actress Sonam Kapoor. There were also rumors spread around that Punit and the lead actress Sonam Kapoor were dating. But they never declared that they were dating and finally the relationship ended.
Karan Johar decided to recast the successful pair of Ekmeinaurektu in his next venture, Goriterepyarmein. It was the movie released after KareenaKapoor’s marriage. However the movie failed to manke an impact at box office.
