Puneeth Rajkumar Biography

Puneeth Rajkumar is a popular actor and playback singer of Kannada movies at present. He is the youngest son of Kannada actor Rajkumar and the younger brother of Shivarajkumar and producer, actor Raghavendra Rajkumar. He entered film field as a child artist and has won National award for the movie, Bettada Hoovu in 1986. He has acted in 12 movies as a child artist. He debut as an adult actor with the movie Appu, released in 2002. He has successfully completed one decade in this industry and owns many super hit movies like - Abhi (2003), Aakash (2005), Arasu (2007), Milana (2007), Jackie (2010), Hudugaru (2011), Paramathma (2011)and Yaare Koogadali (2012). He also hosts the quiz show Kannadada Kotyadhipati on Suvarna at present, a version of Kaun banega crorepathi of Star Plus.

Puneeth Rajkumar was born as Mohith to Rajkumar and Parvathamma Rajkumar as the fifth and last child. As an infant he has appeared in Premada Kanike and was seen in the movie, Sanadi Appanna when he was one year old. He has acted as son of Rajkumar in movies like Yarivanu, Vasantha Geetha and Chalisuva Modagalu. He didn’t give preference to education and has done home tuition and diploma course only. Later he trained dancing, stunt sequence and Kalaripayattu for movies. He was actively involved in a Banner Vajreshwari Combines' film distribution job in Karnataka and now also associated with it.

He re-entered movies with Appu in 2002 and is now a successful actor of the industry. Puneeth is also known as a playback singer. He has rendered his voice for movies like Appu, Vamshi, Lava Kusha and Mylari. As a child artist too, he has sung many songs of which Kanadante Mayavadanu from Chalisuva Modagalu is most popular. In 2007, he received Karnataka State Best Actor Award for Milana and Filmfare award for Arasu. In 2011, he received his second Filmfare award for Hudugaru, that won him SIIMA awards as well.  

The young actor Puneeth rajkumar passed away at the age of 46, after suffering a cardiac arrest.
