Priya Lal Biography

Priyaa Lal is a British Indian actress who appears in Malayalam movies. She marked her Malayalam film debut with the film Janakan in 2010, directed by N. R. Sanjeev, alongside Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi. She played the memorable role of Suresh Gopi’s daughter, the rape victim in this movie, and the whole story surrounds her character. The movie was an average grosser at box office. The song Olichirunne featuring Priyaa was a huge hit. She was included in the ensemble cast of 2015 film, Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi, starring Kunchakko boban as main lead.

She is also known as Priya Lal and Priyanka Lalaji. Her birth name is Priyanka Lalaji. She was born in Ras al-Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates to a Christian family. Priyaa’s younger days were spent at UAE where she was born. Her parents Lalaji and Beena are from Thiruvalla, and the family migrated to Liverpool, UK when she was young. She has one brother too. Later the family moved to Gulf. Later she completed her studies in Media and Production at Liverpool Arts College.

She marked her debut as a teenager in 2012 action flick, Janakan. Later she was seen in the movies - Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi, Killadi Raman, Kunthapura, Mayil etc. In 2017 she marked her Telugu debut with Guvva Gorinka opposite Satyadev Kancharana. In 2016 she hosted Comedy Super Nite 2 show for Flowers TV. Lal was elected as the most influencing person of 2011 among UK Malayalis. She was named in as the Public Announcer by the Kerala Cricket Association in 2013. She also became the MC for the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) Season 3 2013 opening ceremony at Kochi.
