Priti Sapru is a famous Punjabi actress. Nimmo and Yaari Jat Di Qurbani Jatt Di are her Punjabi hits. She is also a Bollywood actress known for character roles. Similar to her brother, actor Tej Sapru, her silver eyes are very catchy. She is the daughter of D.K. Sapru aka Sapru. Her uncle Jeevan was also a well-established villain of Bollywood in the 1960s and 1970s and her cousin Kiran Kumar is a well-known character artist of Bollywood and small screen. She also directed one Punjabi movie, "Qurbani Jatt Di” (1990) where she played lead role and wrote screenplay as well.

She was born in Juhu in 24 December 1957.She was born to Bollywood actor Sapru, known for his light expressive eyes. She along with her brother inherited the same traits from her father. She schooled at St. Joseph's High School, Juhu. She made her acting debut through 1981 blockbuster Laawaris, where she portrayed the character role of village girl Channo, and younger sister of Suresh Oberoi. She got noticed through her debut movie itself and offers came pouring in. She also appeared in Bachchan's another hit Aaj Ka Arjun. She worked with Rajesh Khanna in 1983 acclaimed movie, Avatar and 1987 movie, Nazrana.  Nazrana is a murder mystery where the lead actor Rajesh Khanna is accused of murdering Priti sapru, an upcoming model. Priti’s grey shaded role was challenging and one of the best roles she played onscreen.

Priti was mostly casted in supporting roles and very soon she landed in Punjabi cineme. She played lead role in quite a few movies and has been successfully paired with Veerendra, Gurdas Maan, Raj Babbar and many more. She became an established star in Punjabi cinema in the 1980s and early 1990s. She got married to Utpal Ahluwalia in 2008.
