Prem Biography

Prem is a film director and actor in the Kannada films. He is also an occasional singer and lyricist. He is one of the most successful film directors of Kannada film industry at present. He made his directorial debut in the year 2003 with the musical hit movie Kariya and later went on delivering 2 more hit movies in a row. After that he came to be known as Hat-trick Director of Kannada cinema. As an actor he debut with Preethi Yeke Bhoomi Melide in the year 2008. He is to play the lead role of Kannada remake of super hit Tamil movie, Subramaniapuram. The movie, titled Prem Adda is directed by Mahesh babu. Prem is married to film actress, Rakshita who is a film producer also. The prestigious project Jogayya starring Shivarajkumar in the lead and directed by Prem was produced by Rakshita. The couple has one son.

 

Prem was born as Kiran on 21 October 1978 in Mandya district of Karnataka. Prem began his career as director in 2003 with Kariya. Darshan was the lead hero of this hit movie. The same year he directed a light-hearted romantic film, Excuse Me with newcomers, Ajay Rao, Sunil Raoh and Ramya. The movie was a musical hit. In 2005, his biggest blockbuster film Jogi starring Shivarajkumar, Jennifer Kotwal and Arundathi Nag was released. It was the comeback movie of actor Shivarajkumar. Thus with the sucecss of Kariya, Excuse Me and Jogi, he got the title, Hat-trick director.

 

However his fourth release, much hyped movie, Preethi Yeke Bhoomi Melide was a disaster. Bollywood actress, Mallika Sherawat made her debut in South Indian films through a special appearance in this movie. His next movie, Raaj the Showman released in 2010 was a moderate success. Now he works both as an actor and director in film industry.
