Preeti Sagar Biography 
Preeti Sagar is a playback singer of Bollywood during 70’s. She is most known for the song of Julie – My heart is beating, composed by Rajesh Roshan. It has earned her a Filmfare nomination for 1975 and a special Filmfare award. She has won Filmfare once for the song of Manthan – Maare goan (1978). She has sung only less number of songs in Bollywood. Yet music lovers remember her name for the English song, “My heart is beating … Only for you”, pictured on Lekshmi, Om Prakash and Sri Devi as a teenager. She has sung a few tracks and most of them belong to offbeat movies - Piya Baaj Pyaala Piya Jaye Na of Nishant, Shamsher Bhare Na Maang Ghazab of Mandi, Tumhare bin jee naa lage of Bhoomika and What's your problem of Kalyug. Her nursery rhymes are also popular.
Preeti Sagar is a trained classical singer. Song of Julie was her biggest break. Despite getting a few good songs in Bollywood, she couldn’t sustain in the industry when big singers like Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle were there. Already new singers like Vani Jayaram and Hemlata were gaining popularity too. Yet as a singer, Preeti Sagar didn’t get enough opportunities in Bollywood. Slowly she turned herself to other musical albums and became successful in nursery albums, particularly in 1980’s. Nursery Rhymes like Jack and Jill and Humpyu dumpty sat on the wall, released in the year 1980 became very popular and now also loved by kids. Her other hit nursery rhymes include – London bridge is falling, Hickory hickory dock, Mary had a lamp, Little bo peep, Ba ba black sheep, Puzzy cat, Chubby cheeks, I heard a thunder, One two buckle my shoe, Goosy goosy Gander and The alphabets song. The list is too long. She has released almost all common English Nursery rhymes in her name. She focused on children’s entertainment programs and programs related to their studies and education.
She has a production company in her name - Angela Films, that do ad films as well as short films for kids. Most popular TV show was Phulfari bachom ki.
