Preeti Jhangiani Biography

Preeti Jhangiani is a beautiful Indian actress who has worked in Hindi, Telugu and Punjabi movies. She was born in Mangalore, Karnataka. But everyone believes that she is a Punjabi. She was noticed with her first album itself. She first appeared in the music videos of album ‘Yeh hai prem’ opposite Abbas. This album was released by Rajashree productions and pictured all songs as sequels – telling a whole story, traversing from one song to another. This idea was a fresh new and clicked as well. She became a popular face and her fresh looks helped her a lot too!

She debut Bollywood with the movie ‘Mohabbatein’ in 2000. Her ‘Punjabi Kudi’ looks type casted her to a Punjabi girl. Yet her role was well appreciated. Though she is a modern girl, who has appeared in ‘Nirma’ ad earlier, everyone loves to see her as a typical Indian girl. This ad made her popular too. Very soon she was casted opposite Kunchakko Boban and Vineet in Malayalam flick ‘Mazhavillu’. This movie was noticed for its beautiful song sequences at Switzerland though the movie failed at box office. After that she turned to other regional movies as well.

Punjabi movie ‘Sajna ve sajna’, “hello’- Tamil, Tammudu – Telugu were the movies released first in regional languages before 2000. Her second hit movie of Bollywood was Awara Pagal Deewana. She made a special appearance in Hritik Roshan – Esha Deol starrer ‘Na tum jaano na hum’. Later she moved on to Telugu movies like Narasimha Naidu and Adhipathi, though she was paired opposite Givinda in the movie ‘Wah tera kya kehna’ the following year.

In 2003, she got a couple of good movies. Her role as police officer in the movie – Baaz a bird in danger was noted. Perhaps it’s the best performance of Preeti Jhangiani in a Bollywood movie. Her other Bollywood movies include With love tumhara, LOC Kargil, Aan men at work, Chehra, Annarth, Jaane kya hoga, Victoria no.203, Chahat ek nasha and Ssukh. Yet she struggled in Bollywood despite having a charming face and personality. She got married to actor Parvin Dabbas in the year 2008.
