Prabhat Nalini Das Biography 
Prabhat Nalini Das is a celebrated academician and professor from the Indian state of Odisha. She has served as professor of English at various colleges of Delhi, and also Ranchi University and Utkal University. Her husband Bidhu Bhusan Das was a public intellectual, scholar, professor, administrator and advisor to many rulers and administrators. She has served as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the North Eastern Hill University. She is the first Dean of the Humanities Division at IIT Kanpur. She owns a distinguished career in the field of education.
Prabhat Nalini Das has been a brilliant student in academics, and has always been a University topper. She was a gold medalist at Ravenshaw University, completing graduation in English, followed by University topper at University of Allahabad for her Master’s in English. She also completed Master’s in English at the University of Minnesota, and once again became the University topper. She married Professor Bidhu Bhusan Das, belonging to a distinguished and famous political family from Orissa. . The famous feminist and freedom activist Sarala Devi was his maternal aunt, and Nityanand Kanungo – the famous politician and union minister of Jawaharlal Nehru’s cabinet was his maternal uncle.
The couple had 5 children, and all of them have excelled in different fields – from administration to arts and literature. Their daughter Oopali Operajita is an Odissi and Bharatanatyam dancer and also a Senior Advisor to India's Parliamentary leaders. Prabhat Nalini Das owns a glorious academic career, and has spent almost 4 decades in this field teaching English literature. She joined service at the age of 31, and has currently retired from government service. Many of her students have earned success in different fields.
