Poornima Mohan, also called Poornima Indrajith is a Malayalam film actress and successful television host. She is married to Malayalam film star, Indrajith, son of famous Malayalam actors Sukumaran and Mallika Sukumaran. South Indian star Prithviraj is her brother-in-law. Her sister Priya Mohan is also an actress. ‘Randam Bhavam’ is her most popular Malayalam movie in which she played lead role opposite Suresh Gopi. The nostalgic romantic song, Marannittumenthino was pictured on her. Meghamalhar and Valliettan are other noted movies. After her marriage with Indrajith she took a break from film industry. Yet she became popular as a television host and she also comperes stage shows and award nights. Kadha Ithu Vare on Mazhavil Manorama is one of her most celebrated television shows.

Poornima was born to Mohan and Shanthi, a Tamil Brahmin family settled in Kerala. She is a trained classical dancer. She started her career as a model. She has appeared in television ads during her early days. She played the role of Yamuna in the television serial, Peythozhiyathe. It was for the first time when she met her future husband Indrajith, who came to studio with his mother Mallika Sukumaran who also played a role in the same serial. She reached Malayalam silver screen in the late 1990’s and she mostly appeared in supporting roles. She played the role of Shalini’s friend in Tamil version of Aniyathipravu, Kadhalukku Mariyadhai She played lead role opposite Dileep in 2000 movie, Varnakkazchchakal. Cotton Mary (1999), Valliettan (2000), Randaam Bhavam (2001), Megamalhar (2001), Naranathu Thamburan (2001), Danny (2002), Varum Varunnu Vannu (2003) and Gulabi Talkies (2008) are her other noted movies.

After her marriage with Indrajith, she took break from film industry. The music countdown show ‘Pepsi Top Ten’ on Asianet marked her comeback as a television hostess and it became popular. Thus she received shows like Kadha Ithu Vare, Idavelayil and Swarna Mazha. She is a regular host at many award functions also.
