Pinchoo Kapoor Biography

Pinchoo Kapoor was a Bollywood actor known for portraying supporting roles. He was mostly active in the era of 1970s and 1980s. He spent in the film industry for two decades from 1969 to 1989. Kaun Kitney Paani Mein, Badalte Rishtey, Khaanthan, Hotel, Roti, Mukti, Salakhein, Don and Agent Vinod are some of his early noticed works in Bollywood. He played the role of real Interpol Officer R.K. Malik in Bollywood all-time blockbuster Don in 1978. He was one among those actors of Bollywood who got type casted to similar types of roles and he repeated many of his frequently used dialogues in many of his movies.

He belonged to Jaipur of Rajasthan. He reached Bollywood in the late 1960s and throughout 1970s and 1980s he portrayed similar roles onscreen. He portrayed the role of stubborn father or a rich man/industrialist with connections to underground world in numerous movies.  Avtaar and Chor Machaya Shor are among those movies in which he played heroine’s strict father role. His role as Chacha of Agent Vinod in 1977 sleeper hit movie – Agent Vinod was also a noted work. The movie also starred Mahendra Sandhu, Asha Sachdev, Rehana Sultan and Nazir Hussain in pivot roles.

His most memorable movie is Don, where he portrayed the role of real Interpol Officer R.K. Malik. The movie played a significant role in establishing Amitabh Bachchan as the second superstar of Bollywood. The movie also starred Parveen Babi and Pran in pivot roles. However he died soon after film shooting and before its release. So, at the beginning of this movie, the film makers dedicate the whole movie to his memory!!!!
