Piaa Bajpai Biography
Piaa Bajpai is a south Indian film actress and successful model. Her most noted movies are Ko and Goa, both are Tamil movies. She has also appeared in several television commercials. She debut big screen in the year 2008 with the Tamil movie, Poi Solla Porom. Later she worked in Malayalam and Telugu films also. She appeared aside Prithviraj and Ananya in Malayalam thriller, Masters.
Piaa Bajpai was born in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh. At the age of 16, she resettled at Delhi. She joined a computer science course in Delhi in hope to get a break in Bollywood, though her parents were against her decision. While doing diploma course at Delhi, she did part-time jobs of a receptionist and tution teacher to earn money to make her portfolio. After a year, she felt restless with her job and relocated to Mumbai. Piaa then began to work as a dubbing artiste for serials though she was not at all happy. Later she moved to television commercials and worked as a model. She was eventually signed on by film-maker Priyadarshan to appear in a commercial directed by him. It provided her big break to enter movies.
After appearing in Priyadarshan's commercial, she was invited for an audition for a Tamil movie that she accepted. The comedy film, Poi Solla Porom, was directed by A. L. Vijay and her role as bubbly and cheerful girl was appreciated. The success of the movie gave her more film offers as well. She appeared in Raju Sundaram's Aegan (remake of Mein hoon naa) where she reprised the role played by Amrita Rao. In 2009, she appeared in a low-budget Telugu film, Ninnu Kalisaka for which she got positive reviews.
It was during the final day shooting of the movie Aegan that Ajith Kumar introduced her to director Venkat Prabhu. She got the role in Goa after 6 months, which established her as a successful actress of Tamil cinema. For her supporting role in Ko, she received Vijay Award. She has also acted in Telugu movies like - Ninnu Kalisaka, Dalam, and Back bench student.
