Partho Gupte Biography

Partho Gupte is a child actor of Bollywood best known for playing the lead role of Stanley Ka Dabba (2011) and Hawaa Hawaai (2014), both directed by his father, Amole Gupte - the director and screenwriter of critically acclaimed movies. Partho’s performance was equally praised for both these movies. His outstanding performance in Stanley ka dabba earned him a special award at Filmfare. The movie also bagged him National Film Award for Best Child Artist for the year 2011, apart from Screen awards, Big Star Award and many more. He also received Best Actor at the Shlingel Film Festival in Germany for the title role of Stanley ka dabba. The movie was a commercial hit as well.

 

After the success of Taare Zameen Par, when Amole Gupte decided to make his debut movie based on children’s subject, he casted his son Partho in its lead role. Stanley ka dabba was Partho’s debut movie as well and the movie earned him National award for best child artist apart from many other awards. The movie made on a small budget was a box office hit as well. Partho was only 10 when he played the title role.

 

For his second movie, Hawa Hawaai he started practising skating. He used to skate every day, and his father used to assist him too. He was given special training by Ajay Shivlani, a coach who runs the skating school Rollfit in Mumbai. He played the role of Arjun Harishchand Waghmare, an ambitious but poor boy who loves to do skating, a game that’s meant for rich classes only. The movie garnered positive response from critics and audience and its sequel is likely to roll in 2015. Partho is a great fan of Rohit shetty and his films.
