Pankaj Pachauri Biography 
Pankaj Pachauri is a noted journalist and TV anchor associated with NDTV for the past 15 years. BBC, India Today, The Sunday Observer and the Patriot are other media houses with whom he has been associated with. A veteran in the field of journalism and broadcast medium, he has spent more than 30 years with the field. He received 'The Statesman Award for Rural Reporting’ award in 1989 for reporting the heinous practice of female infanticide in Rajasthan. Since 2005 he has received numerous awards for best TV anchor in Hindi language. He served as the Communications Adviser of PM Manmohan Singh during 2012-2014. He is a political expert who appears for debate shows for NDTV.
He was born in New Delhi on 24 September 1963. His education was completed at St. John's College, Agra and later at Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute in Lucknow where he completed his journalism course. After the completion of the course, he spent 7 years in association with different dailies in the 1980s. Later he worked 6 years in radio before he fully switched on to television. He has completed 16 years in television broadcasting in Hindi and English, and is one of the most popular anchors of Indian television at present. He has worked as a news correspondent across the world.
In 2012 he was appointed as Communications Adviser to the Prime Minister's Office in India. During his tenure he pioneered Indian Government's highest office's policy in social media interaction. He served the position under Manmohan Singh till 2014 when Narendra Modi formed new government at the centre. He served as the director of Jaypee Business School during 2015-2016. In the late 1980s he travelled extensively to the rural desert areas of Rajasthan and exposed the female infanticide. It gained him nationwide attention and a lot of appreciation as well.
