Pankaj Dubey Biography

Pankaj Dubey born on 28 July 1978 was born in Ranchi in the Jharkhand state of India. He was bred and brought up in Chaibasa where his father was posted as Professor of English Literature. Pankaj Dubey himself is an author, screenwriter, director and producer currently lives in Mumbai. 

Pankaj Dubey is a Bachelors in History from Satyawati College' Evening Section in the year 1999. Pankaj graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from Law Centre Campus, University of Delhi in 1999 to 2002. And finally a Masters in Applied Communications from Coventry School of Art and Design, West Midlands, England in 2003.

Pankaj Dubey also had a brief background in journalism. He joined BBC World Service in London as a Presenter and Journalist in 2003. Dubey worked for the BBC World Service in London and TV Today Group in New Delhi. He has organized and programmed more than 50 film festivals across India. He also Worked with Cap Gemini S.A. French multinational management consulting corporation headquartered in Paris, as a consultant.

Pankaj has been awarded the Youth Icon Award for Social Entrepreneurship in Gulbarga, Karnataka in 2010 when he initiated India’s first street film festival for children in slums and villages known as the Sadak Chhaap (Road Show) Film Festival. Dubey's debut novel is called What a Loser in English (2014) and Loser kahin ka! in Hindi which proved to be a bestseller. He is planning to direct a movie based on his novel Loser kahin ka!

Pankaj Dubey's other works consist of- 
Produced Geelee (Wet Dreams) The film was Geelee was directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra. 
Worked as script writer and continuity supervisor for Ghanchakkar and Chauranga Ganesh (Dance of Ganesha).
Pankaj Dubey has curated more than 50 film festivals across India.
Dubey founded a social organization called Society for the Promotion and Inculcation of Human Aspirations.
