Pamposh Bhat Biography 
Pamposh Bhat is an environmentalist and writer from Delhi. She is of Kashmiri origin, though born in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Bhat has been awarded the prestigious Rajbhasha Award for Poetry in 1995 for her poem collection - "Kshitij Ki Khoj Mein". A social worker who leads an active life, she chairs many organizations. She is a member of Central Electricity Regulatory Commission advisory committee at present. She serves as the chairperson of the board of trustees for Jwala, which promotes renewable forms of energy. She is married to S. L. Bhat, former Chairman of the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission. She is currently settled in Delhi where she concentrates on her work as an environmentalist and writer.
Bhat was born on 19 September 1958 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. She is of Kashmiri Origin. Her schooling and graduation were completed from Bhopal. She completed Master’s in Chemistry. After that she started her career as a research scholar in University of Kashmir and it was during this time when she developed interest in environmental policy. She very soon joined UN-APCTT, where she worked to promote the use of renewable energy in the country. She also worked as an editor of a journal during this period.
At present she is an expert on climate change and renewable energy policy and has served as climate policy advisor for many Indian states. She is also a writer who has published two poetry collections - Trishna (1995) and Kshitij Ki Khoj Mein (1993), apart from short stories. Her short story – Bub was later made into a feature film with the same name which won Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration at national award functions in 2002.
