Pallavi Sharda Biography

Pallavi Sharda is a film and theatre actress and a trained Bharatnatyam dancer. She was born in Perth in 1987 and an Indian-Australian artist. In March 2010 Sharda was crowned 'Miss India Australia' in Sydney. As a film actress, her most noted movies at the early phase of her career are My Name Is Khan (2010), Dus thola (2010) and Love Breakups Zindagi (2011). She reprised the role of Shaari in Malayalam classic, Ponmuttayidunna tharaavu, when it was remade to Hindi as Dus Thola. She played the role of a dancer teacher in this satire movie. She is in limelight at present, as she has been paired opposite Bollywood sensational star, Ranbir Kapoor in October release movie, Besharam, released on 2 October 2013. Her character name is Tara in this movie and it’s one of the big releases of the year.

Pallavi is the daughter of Dr. Hema Sharda, and Dr. Nalin Sharda. Her father is Director of South Asian Relations at the University of Western Australia at present, and her mother, Professor of Computer Science at Victoria University. Both are from North India, now settled in Australia. They migrated to Australia in the 1980s. She was born in Perth and brought up in Melbourne. She carries LLB and BA (Media & Communications) and Diploma in Modern Languages (French) as degrees. She shifted to Mumbai in 2008.

 
Her debut was a cameo appearance in Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan (2010). Same year she won 'Miss India Australia' in Sydney. She played the second lead role in Dus thola, released the same year. Manoj Bajpai played the lead role. Her role was well appreciated though the movie couldn’t win better at box office. Her next release was an Indo-American film titled ‘Walkaway’ was released on 29 October 2010 across USA. Most recently she has made Australian film debut with comedy film ‘Save Your Legs’.
