P. Vijay Biography 
P. Vijay is an Indian lyricist who has penned more than 1200 songs for Tamil film industry. He started writing lyrics in 1996 and his career spreads more than 17 years.
P. Vijay was born on 20th October 1974 in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu in India and is popularly known as Pa. Vijay. His father is V. Balakrishnan who worked as the spinning master in the Kovai National Spinning Mill. His mother Saraswathi was a school teacher. He completed his schooling at M.C.R.R. Naidu School, Suburban Higher Secondary School and Ramalinga Chettiyar Higher Secondary School. He got his B.Litt degree and Master’s degree in Tamil from Annamalai University.
He used to write poems from his childhood days. He married Lena and has two children named Vishwa and Vishna. He was introduced to film industry by director K. Bhagyaraj who was his family friend. Initially he worked with him in his film Gnanapazham and later started working with him in his magazine Bhagya.
He sees the popular lyricists Kannadasan and Vairamuthu as the role models. His song in 2004 for the film Autograph, Ovvoru Pookkalume was a megahit and he got many awards and honors for this song. The then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M. Karunanidhi gave him the title of Vithaga Kavignar Pa. Vijay. The poet Vali has honored him by announcing him as his heir in the field of lyrics. He has also acted in the lead role in two Tamil films namely Nyabagangal and Ilaignan.
He has authored many books including Kannadi Kalvettukal, Indha Sippikul, Oru Thoorigai Thupakki Aagirathu, Udainda Nilakkal, Nambikaiyudan, Nandavanathu Natchathirangal, Pa. Vijay Paadalkal, Vaanavil Poonga, Adutha Agni Pravesam, Aranmanai Ragasiyam, Kadavul Varugiran Jaakiradhai, Kagidha Marangal, Iranduku Aagayam, Kaithatal Gnabagangal, Pengal Pandigai, etc.
He has penned lyrics for the songs of many films including Nee Varuvai Ena, Vanathai Pola, Paarvai Ondre Podhume, Dhill, Samudhiram, Sundara Travels, Run, Boys, Autography, Arinthun Ariyamalum, Sivaji: The Boss, Billa, Bheema, Kuselan, Villu, Enthiran, Ayan, Aadhavan, etc.
