Nimai Bali Biography

Nimai Bali is a noted character artist of Hindi television serials, who is associated with mythological shows most. He plays supporting roles and antagonist on mini screen. He is one of the most well-known villains of mythological series of Hindi television entertainment. Associated with Doordarshan serials in the 1990s, he is a busy star now. His role as Surya in Doordarshan’s most popular fantasy serial, Chandrakanta (1994) gave him the big break to television. It was his debut television series too. His role as Inspector Malvade, in Bollywood movie "Rahasya" (2015) is his best performance on silver screen.

Made his acting debut in a pivot role with Doordarshan’s Chandrakanta in 1994, he later played many significant roles on mini screen. He gained popularity playing mythological series like Pawan Dev and Emperor Vali in the 1997 mythological series on Doordarshan, Jai Hanuman. He enacted both these characters for the same series. He also played three roles of Jalandhar/Shani/Duryodhana in the popular series on Doordarshan, Om Namah Shivay the same year. It was for the first time he acted in a Hindu devotional series. After playing the pivot role of Senior Inspector Pratap in the detective series CID: Special Bureau, he later concentrated on mythological characters most.

Duryodhana in Sanjay Khan's Maha Kavya Mahabharat in 2001 and Ravana in Jai Jai Jai Bajrangbali are among his other noted mythological roles. He is still remembered as Duryodhana on mini screen. Currently he plays the role of Guru Drona in Suryaputra Karn. Apart from mythological series, other noted works include - Bhabhi, Kumkum, Doli Sajaa Ke Rakhna, Amber Dhara, Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Yug etc. He is trained in martial arts and has the hobby of cars. He is married to television actress Sahila Chadha and the couple has one daughter.
