Nidhi Subbaiah Biography

Nidhi Subbaiah is a south Indian film actress and model. She has also appeared in numerous television ads. She debut film industry with Telugu movie, Sweet heart in 2009 and Kannada movies Pancharangi (2010) and Krishnan Marriage Story (2011) made her an established actress of the industry. Both these movies gave her multiple nominations at several awards. She has acted in Bollywood movies, Oh My God as a news reporter and lead role opposite Jackky Bhagnani in Ajab Gazab Love. It was widely rumoured that she was dating her ‘Ajab gajab love’ co-star.

Nidhi was born on February 16, 1987 in the Kodagu district of Karnataka. She is a single girl child to Bollachanda Subhash Subbaiah and Jhansi Subbaiah. The family later moved to Gokulam, Mysore where she spent her childhood and had education. She studied at St. Joseph's, Mysore and civil Engineering from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering. But she dropped her engineering studies to pursue a career in modelling and acting. Her first noted ad was for Fair and Lovely fairness cream. Her noted ad of Fair and Lovely gave her film assignments, Abhimaani being the first, followed by Sweet heart. She played supporting role in Anna Bond alongside Puneet Rajkumar and Priyamani, which did fairly well at box office too. For the movie she got SIIMA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role too. It was her first recognition.

 
Her first Bollywood movie was critically well acclaimed Akshay Kumar movie, Oh my God, where she did a cameo appearance of a news reporter. She has been nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Kannada twice in 2010 and 2011, for the movies Pancharangi and Krishnan Marriage Story. For the movie, Krishnan Marriage Story she received SIIMA Special Appreciation Award - Kannada also.
