Neha Mehta Biography

Neha Mehta is a popular actress of Hindi television who shot to fame after playing the character role of Anjali Mehta in the iconic comedy sitcom, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on Sab TV. She played the title role of Shakuntala in the mythological series with the same name, aired on Star One in 2009. Gautam Sharma played the male lead as Dushyant in this series. She played the title role of Saroj in Star Plus serial Bhabhi, which made her a household name. Associated with television since 2001, she has also done a few films. She is associated with Gujarati Theater for many years.

 

Neha was born on 9th June, 1988 in Bhavnagar of Patan District, Gujarat. She was born into a family of literals and her father is a writer. Neha too has excelled as a Gujarati speaker. Her childhood was spent in Ahmedabad where she did her schooling. She took a degree in Indian Classical Dance and also did a diploma course in vocals. She has also done many Gujarati plays. She made her television debut in the year 2001 with the show, Dollar Bahu aired on ZEE TV.

 

She got her big break in 2002, when she was casted in the lead role for the show Bhabhi, which ran successfully till 2008. Bhabhi was only her second television show. The following year she made her film entry through south Indian films. Telugu film, Dham marked her film debut, where she played the parallel lead opposite Jagapati Babu. The movie was declared a blockbuster. Yet she never acted in any south Indian movie later. She was also seen in a Gujarati film - Janmo Janam. However she continued with her television works. Since 2008, she plays the pivot role of Anjali Mehta, the wife of Taarak Mehta in the series, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
