Neeru Bajwa Biography

Neeru Bajwa is an Indian television and film actress. She debut Bollywood in the year 1998 with Dev Anand’s directorial venture, Main Solah Baras Ki where she worked aside him and Jus Arora. Later she moved to television as well as Punjabi movies. She has been featured in several Punjabi music videos. Neeru is originally from Canada.

Neeru was born on 26 August 1980 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada as Arshvir Kaur Bajwa. As she was interested in movies and acting, she left her school and reached Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. She was spotted for the first time by actor director Dev Anand, who casted her in lead role in his movie, Main solah baras ki. Though Dev Anand had successfully launched many heroines in Bollywood, Neeru’s career didn’t take off. Then she moved towards television.

She started her career in Indian Soap Opera in 2003 with Hari Mirchi Lal Mirchi, aired on Doordarshan. Then she appeared in popular soaps, Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani on Zee TV followed by Jeet on Star Plus and Guns and Roses on Star One. She fell in love with her co-actor Amit Sadh of Guns and Roses and they dated for a while before they split in 2010. She also appeared as fiancée of ACP Satyakand in popular detective series of Sony entertainment television, CID.

In 2003, for the first time she appeared in a Punjabi music video - Kainthey Wala of Kamal Heer. Later she appeared in popular Punjabi music videos like Hey Soniye with Silinder Pardesi and Gippy Grewal’s music video Daang. She also appeared in a Pakistani music video "hum kis gali ja rahay hain" sung by Atif Aslam. In between she appeared in two Bollywood movies – Prince, Special Chabbis, Phoonk 2 and Miley Naa Miley Hum. She made her Punjabi Film debut in 2004 with the movie Asa Nu Maan Watna Da and has acted in several Punjabi movies.
