Naveen D. Padil is a noted theatre and film personality associated with Tulu entertainment industry. Hed is the super star of Tulu film industry. Apart from more than a 1000 plays, he has also acted in several Tulu movies. Known for both comic and serious performances, he is known the Tulu theatre circle as "Master of Comedy and Tragedy". Padil is also nicknamed as "Kusalda Arase" which literally means - The King of Happiness. Quite a popular comedy star of Tulu stage shows, he has performed along with Devadas Kapikad and Aravind Bolar since 1990s. They together worked in the film – Bolli. He played a supporting role in the 2011 Kannada film, Jarasandha.

Naveen D. Padil was born on 11 November 1969 in Padil, Dakshina Kannada. He started his professional career as a mimicry artist and is quite popular for his comic shows in the 1990s and 2000s. He is also associated with theater and movies, belonging to Tulu language.

Tulu movies almost relay to comedy actors and as a versatile actor, Padil is now one of the top actors of Tulu film industry. His recent film - "Chandi Kori" released in 2015 completed 100 days run at Udupi theatres and it marked the directorial debut of Devadas Kapikad. The movie also received a huge opening. Some of his major hits include - Chandi Kori, Ekka Saka, Chaali Polilu, Oriyardori Asal etc.

Oriyardori Asal helped him to bag RED FM Tulu Film Awards for best actor in a comic role in 2014. Telikeda Bolli (2015) earned him Best Actor in a Comic Role at Tulu Cinemotsava 2015. Same year he also received Best Actor by Public Voting for his lead role in Chaali Polilu. The movie also starred Devadas Kapikad and Bhojaraj Vamanjoor in lead roles. The movie had a long run of 470 days.
