Narain Karthikeyan Biography 
Kumar Ram Narain Karthikeyan, shortly known as Narain Karthikeyan is the first Formula One motor racing driver from India. He has previously competed in A1GP and Le Mans Series. He made his Formula One debut in the year 2005 with the Jordan team, and was a Williams F1 test driver in the next couple of years. He moved to stock car racing and drove the #60 Toyota Tundra for Wyler Racing in the 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. In 2011 he returned to F1 with the HRT team and remains there till now. HRT was not included in the FIA's 2013 entry list, and thus Karthikeyan was left without a drive.
Narain was born on 14th January 1977 in Chennai. He did his schooling at Coimbatore. From an younger age, car racing was his dream. His father was a former Indian national rally champion winning South India Rally seven times. Karthikeyan finished on the podium in his first ever race, at Sriperumpudur in a Formula Maruti and went to France later. In 1992, he became semi-finalist in the Pilote Elf Competition for Formula Renault cars in France. He returned to India in 1992 and went on winning numerous races one after the other. He finished first in British Formula Ford Winter Series in 1994 and Formula Asia in 1996. In the latest Auto GP World Series 2013, he finished fourth.
He has participated in many championships like World Series by Nissan, Super league Formula, Formula Nippon, British Formula Three, A1 Grand Pix and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. IRL Test in 2001, A1 GP in 2007, Kolles Le Mans in 2009, Nascar in 2010 and Super league formula in 2010 are the other events and races in which Narain has participated. He has done 48 races till now; the first one was 2005 Australian Grand Prix and the last one, 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix.
