Nanditha Raj Biography

Nanditha Raj is a young south Indian film actress who appears in Telugu and Malayalam movies. Neeku Naku Dash Dash – Telugu movie released in 2010 marked her film debut. In 2014 she made her Malayalam debut through London Bridge – opposite Prithviraj Sukumaran. But this romantic movie was a box office failure. Her second Telugu release - Prema Katha Chithram was a box office blockbuster. Lovers – was her third Telugu release.

 
Nanditha was born and brought up in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Her father is an Army officer and mother is a legal advisor. She has one younger brother. Though she didn’t plan a career in entertainment industry it was her mother who encouraged her to take modelling as her field. On her mother’s insistence she contested in ‘May Queen Ball’ contest held at the Secunderabad Club and she won the title. Later she sent her photographs to director Teja who called her to give an audition and she got selected for the lead role from a state-wide hunt.

She was paired opposite another debutant Prince. The talent hunt got 70,000 applications and everyone wanted to play the lead. Later the director had to filter the applications to select the best for the final audition. After selected, both of them were given one month training. She was doing B.Com at St. Francis Hyderabad when she attended the audition. Though the film did not do well, Nandita's performance was appreciated. But her second film ‘Prema Katha Chithram’ with Sudheer Babu in 2013 turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the year. She played a college girl who is a great fan of a dancer, the role played by Sudheer.
