Nandita Dhuri Biography

Nandita Dhuri is a popular Marathi actress who appears in Marathi films and television serials. She has also acted in Marathi plays and attended the workshops done by Chetan Datar & Pt Satyadev Dubey. As a stage actress, her best works include Wada, Iraq, Bhekad and Jungle Mein mangal. Tapaal, Ranga Patangaa, Kachru and Elizabeth Ekadashi are her noted movies. Prior to starting her career as an actress, she has worked as an RJ and voiceover artist. Associated with entertainment industry since 2010, Majhe Pati Saubhagyawati is her popular television role.

A well-known theatre personality she has played some remarkable roles on Marathi big screen and the actress feels that she is lucky enough to get such good roles. Actually she is not selective about the films offers she received till now. Among her films, ‘Ranga Patangaa’ and ‘Elizabeth Ekadashi’ have been screened at several international film festivals. She played the mother of two kids in ‘Elizabeth Ekadashi’. She was spotted by Paresh and Madhugandha, while she was performing on stage and that’s how she got the movie.

She has been the part of several experimental Marathi plays like ‘Abadubi’, ‘Baya Daar Ughad’, ‘Sada Saduchi Bayko Aani Urlela Jag’ etc and has won many popular awards till now. She has also been associated with commercial Marathi plays like ‘Sukhant’ and ‘Mansa Mansa Hoop’. In 2012 she received Zee Gaurav Award for her notable performance in ‘Sukhant’. She is also a recipient of state award for best stage actress.

She was born on 16th March 1982. She was initiated to the world of theater through inter college competitions for nataks and ekankikas. After college she worked as RJ and voiceover artist for some time, before she realized her real goal as acting. She played the lead role of Laxmi Malvankar in the Zee Marathi soap - Mazhe Pati Saubhagyavati. It happened to be her debut show on television.
