Nalini Singh (writer) Biography

Nalini Singh is a well-known international writer of Indian origin, best known for romantic works. Of Indian descent, Nalini Singh was born in 1977 in Fiji and later she moved to New Zealand, where she got settled. Singh is known for writing in the genre - Paranormal Romance, apart from her works on Romance, fantasy and science fiction, though they are related to one another. An author of several novels, novellas, and short stories, she has also worked as a lawyer, an English teacher, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, and a bank temp, which she would prefer to call as grist for the writer’s mill.

She was born in Fiji in 1977. Her family shifted to New Zealand at her younger age and she completed her schooling at Mount Roskill Grammar School. She also spent three years living and working in Japan. During this time, she took her time to travel across Asia. She has worked as a teacher, lawyer, librarian and many more job roles. She has been writing since young and most of her writings held the thread of romance. She loved creating unique characters and fantasy characters like angels and prefers to give happy endings to her stories. In 1999, she finished third at Romance Writers of New Zealand's "Clendon Award". She won Jane Porter Award 2011 award for her manuscript - "Coaxing the Sheik".

Her first published book was "Desert Warrior” in 2002. Since then many of her books have been listed among Bestsellers’ list published at New York, USA Today and Publishers Weekly best-sellers list and her books have won several awards also. She has published more than 25 novels till now, which include - Heart of Obsidian, Kiss of Snow, llegiance of Honor, Visions of Heat, Tangle of Need, Play of Passion, Slave To Sensation etc.
