Nagineedu Biography

Nagineedu is a character artist associated with south Indian cinema, known for his power-packed performance, mostly in the grey shaded roles. He was a General Manager at Prasad labs when he received the offer to play the villain in the Telugu hit - Maryada Ramanna. The role of the antagonist was offered to him by the ace filmmaker, S. S. Rajamouli, and he received Nandi Award for Best Villain for this role. Later he played antagonist role in many south Indian films belonging to different languages. In 2015, he acted in Tamil blockbuster, Thani Oruvan, where he essayed the role of Ashok Pandian. He is currently active in Tamil and Telugu film industry.

 

He hails from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. He studied chemical technology and later worked with Prasad Labs for several years before he stepped into acting. He made his film debut in the year 2002 through Chennakeshava Reddy in an uncredited role. Later he acted in the movies - Indian Beauty, Vedam, Maryada Ramanna, Ramayya Vasthavayya, Virodhi, Pilla Zamindar, Ishq, Gabbar Singh, Venkadadhri Express and Yuddham and many more. His role as antagonist in Maryada Ramanna gave him a big break to Tollywood, and he reprised the same role in its Tamil and Malayalam remakes too, titled - Vallavanukku Pullum Ayutham and Ivan Maryadaraman respectively.

 

His similar kind of role in G. S. Karthik's 2012 film Adda was also well received. Dev Gill plays the main villain and Nagineedu, the supporting villain. Thani Oruvan, Kaaki Sattai, Vedalam and Oye are his recent works in Tamil cinema. Now he is one among the leading ‘bad men’ of south Indian cinema, known for portraying elderly villain roles. In the recent times he is mostly associated with Tamil cinema.
