Nadeem (nadeem Shravan Duo) Biography

Nadeem belongs to the list to Bollywood’s best music composers all time who has given memorable melodies to the era of 90’s. He is one among those talented composers who have given new looks to Bollywood music, when melody was starving in the 1980’s. He along with Shravan has given the best melodies of 1990’s, no doubt thus bringing Bollywood back to track.

The association of these composers began in 1971, though it took 8 more years to work together. It was a Bhojpuri movie Dangal in 1979. Their first Bollywood movie was Maine Jeena Seekh Liya in 1981. Then they did numerous B-grade movies to sustain in the industry till they get the major break ‘Aashique’ in 1990. This movie started the association of Sameer, Nadeem Shravan and Kumar Sanu as a team. Later the team was joined by the lady of the ship ‘Alka Yagnik’ and in the successive years, this magical combination has given numerous melodious numbers to Bollywood music lovers.

A series of hit movies followed Aashique. Saajan, Dilwale, Raja, Phool aur kaante, Hum hai raahi pyar ke, sadak, Deewana, Raja Hindusthani, Damini till Pardes in 1997 when Nadeem was named a suspect of Gulshan Kumar, his mentor who has offered him numerous films including Ashique. His passport was revoked and unwillingly, Nadeem had to stay in England to avoid an arrest. He didn’t return back and it was almost the end of this success pair, though they continued to deliver hits like Hum ho gaye aapke, Janwar, Dhadkan, Mere jeevan saathi, Raaz, Tum sa nahi dekha, Kasoor, Quayamat, Dil hai tumhara and Dil ka rishta. It’s also said that Shravan gave majority of those movies’ tunes in the name of this success pair. It’s said that they split after the movie ‘Dosti’ and never worked together. No doubt, they were the most successful music composers of Bollywood during 90’s who have delivered tunes one after another, entirely different. They never compromised with good voice and tunes and that’s the reason why even after 15-20 years, the magic created by Nadeem Shravan still stay live in millions of hearts.
