N. C. Karunya Biography 
N. C. Karunya is an upcoming Indian playback singer who concentrates most on Telugu movies. He is the runner-up on the popular reality show Indian Idol Season 2, the popular music hunt show on Indian television. He was only 19 when he finished as one among the three finalists of India’s top rated singing reality show, Indian Idol. He was the first south Indian singer who got popularity and success in this show. The song "Kawa Kawa" from Monsoon Wedding made him very popular in the show. Popular playback singer and ZEE TV’s Sa re ga ma pa finalist, Hemachandra is his cousin. Karunya released his first Hindi album, Karunya in 2008.
He was born in 1986 in Hyderabad, Telangana. He was born into the family of musicians, scholars and literals, "Nallan Chakravarthula". Obviously music was in his veins. He was initiated to the world of music at the age of 3. Apart from Carnatic music, he learnt semi-classical and light music. He won music contest "ETV Paadutha theeyaga" at the age of 12. After that he contested in many music contests and recorded his songs as well, which include light music, patriotic and devotional songs.
Indian Idol 2 provided him a big platform to the world of music during his teens. He was only 19 when he participated in the show and he was one of the popular contestants as well. Audience loved his Abhishek Bachchan looks and voice. He made his playback singing debut through the song "Aane Char Aane" of 2006 popular movie – Lage raho Munnabhai. He sang the first Telugu song for the movie Ashoka. He won the Bharathamuni award for Best Male Debut Playback Singer. Ola Olaala Ala, Pillani Choosthey, 123 Nenoka Ka and Oorugalle are some of his hit Telugu songs. "Sada Siva" from "Khaleja" earned him Filmfare award for best playback singer Telugu.
