Muthumani Biography

Muthumani is a Malayalam actress, noted for her performances in successful movies like How old are you, Rasathantram, Innathe Chinta Vishayam and Kadal Kadannoru Mathukutty. She played Manju Warrior’s close friend in Malayalam blockbuster – How old are you and played one among the three troubled wives of Mohanlal starrer - Innathe Chinta Vishayam. She played Mammootty’s wife in Ranjith’s project - Kadal Kadannoru Mathukutty and a role of journalist in Munarriyippu. This actress has left her signature mark in all the roles she played on screen. Yet she is still in wait for a lead actress role. Dulquar Salmaan’s Njan – is her latest release. She started her career as a child artist and has done around 80 films so far.

Muthumani is an established dancer, mono act performer and theater artist apart from a law student. Though she has done only less number of roles onscreen, she got opportunity to work with the major stars of the industry. She did the role of a revenue officer and colleague of Manju Warrior in How Old are You. She shared screen space with Mammootty in the latest flick, Munnariyippu apart from Kadal Kadannoru Mathukutty. She shared screen space with Mohanlal for two blockbuster hits – Rasathantram and Innathe Chinta Vishayam. In the latest flick she worked with Mammootty’s son, playing the challenging role of a sixty-year-old North Malabari woman in the 1930s in period film Jnan.

Her husband Arun has turned scriptwriter with the film Nellika. Muthamani has taken a break from theatre and concentrating on big screen roles. Though she has never played lead roles, she is not regretted of accepting even a single role up-to-date as she believes role matters, not length.
