Mimi Chakraborty Biography

Mimi Chakraborty is a film and television actress from Bengal. Before entering movies, she has been a model and has participated in Femina Miss India beauty pageant. Television serial, Gaaner Oparey where she played the role of Pupe made her a popular figure in Bengal. Bapi Bari Jaa, Bojhena Shey Bojhena, Proloy, Bengali babu English mem and Golpo Holeo Shotti are her Bengali movies. In 2011, she received Rising Star (Female) award at Big Bangla Rising Star Awards.

Mimi Chakraborty was born in Buniadpur of North Bengal. She spent her childhood in Arunachal Pradesh in Deomali. Later she moved back to her ancestral home in Jalpaiguri. Her schooling was done at Holy Child School Jalpaiguri and graduation in English from the Asutosh College, Kolkata. During this time, she started modelling. After a brief stint to modelling, she entered acting field. Her acting debut was with television series - Champion. Her second project was a TV serial Gaaner Oparey (2010-2011), produced by Ideas Creations aired on Star Jalsha. "Gaaner Oparey" was launched to pay tribute to Rabindranath Tagore on the 150th birth anniversary. This prestigious project was successful. This television series was produced by Prosenjit Chatterjee's production house, Ideas Creations.

She debut big screen with 2012 movie, "Bapi Bari Jaa". Again, this movie too was produced by Prosenjit Chatterjee's production house, Ideas Creations where she was paired opposite another debutant Arjun Chakrabarty, the male protagonist from Gaaner Opaarey. They played the lead role of Bapi and Dola in this movie. Her next released movie was Bojhena Shey Bojhena (2013), where she worked aside Soham Chakraborty, Payel sarkar and Abir Chatterjee. She had one more release in 2013 – Prology where she played lead role opposite Parambrata Chatterjee. Bengali babu english mem and Golpo Holeo Shotti are her upcoming Bengali movies.
