Mickey J. Meyer Biography

Mickey J. Meyer is a music composer of Telugu film industry. Happy Days and Kotha Bangaru Lokam are his most noted works for which he won both Nandi awards and Filmfare. His works are noted for their unique blend of traditional Indian music and Western instrumentation.

 

Mickey J Meyer was born and brought up in Hyderabad. He studied Carnatic music, violin and piano at a younger age. He completed schooling from St.Mary's College in Himayatnagar, Hyderabad. After his fifth standard, he got into the prestigious Trinity College of Music, London where he got graduated after 8 years in 2002. He was deeply influenced by A. R. Rahman and now, his dream is to compose a song with Rahman as a singer. After graduating from Trinity College, he chose music as his career. He approached Tammareddy Bharadwaja and Pothe Poni, released in 2005 was his debut movie as a music director.

 

It was followed by 10th Class (2006) and Notebook (2007). But it was Happy Days, released in 2007 which made him a successful music director. The movie too was a super hit and it gathered numerous awards at several functions including Filmfare, Nandi Award and CineMAA Award for Best Music Director. It was one of the best-selling albums of the year. Next year he repeated the success with the music of Kotha Bangaru Lokam which earned both Nandi awards and Filmfare for best music director.

 

When Happy days was remade to Tamil and Kannada with titles, Inidhu Inidhu and Jolly days respectively, he was retained as its music director. Kotha Bangaru Lokam too was remade to Kannada with Mickey as its music director. Chandamama Kathalu, Life is beautiful, Leader, Areyrey, Maro Charitra and Anaganaga O Dheerudu are other noted works.
